3G Solar - Israeli company leading next generation of solar technology

Silicon panels, the first generation, rely on a rapidly disappearing natural ingredient that has become more and more expensive as supply dwindles. Thin film, the second generation, which does not use silicon, is nevertheless prohibitively expensive to build. To solve that problem, a third generation of materials is nearing commercial application: the dye solar cell (DSC), which simulates photosynthesis when exposed to light. While at least a year or two away from being put on the market, Israeli company 3GSolar is arguably one of the closest companies in the world to unlocking the secret of its success.

Open Energy Enters Into $4.7 Million Financing Agreement with The Quercus Trust

Solana Beach, CA, September 22, 2008: Open Energy Corporation (OTC BB:OEGY) today announced that it has entered into a definitive financing agreement with The Quercus Trust, one of the leading cleantech venture funds in North America. Under the terms of this agreement, Quercus has committed to invest $4.7 million in Open Energy, consisting of $4.2 million in cash and $500,000 in the form of debt forgiveness on a prior loan Quercus had made to the Company. In exchange, Open Energy will issue to Quercus warrants to purchase a total of 235,000,000 shares of common stock, at a price of $0.02 per warrant, with an exercise price of $0.067 per share. On September 18, 2008, the Company received $1.5 million in gross proceeds pursuant to the financing agreement, and issued 75,000,000 warrants to Quercus. The remainder of the financing is expected to close near the end of September 2008.

New York, NY, September 15, 2008 --- 21Ventures and the Quercus Trust announced today that they have awarded a $200,000 grant to support the solar energy research of Professor David Cahen of the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel. The grant will be used to further the exploratory research of novel approaches to harness solar energy in less expensive and more efficient new ways and to explore approaches for making better use of existing solar energy technologies.
