October 14,2008 - Open Energy Releases 48 W Version Of SolarSave Tile

Open Energy Corp., a developer of building-integrated photovoltaic products, energy management applications and clean solar energy solutions, has made available a new four-foot, 48 W version of its SolarSave PV Tiles.

Available in slate gray, brown and terra cotta, the tiles are designed to blend with standard roofing color schemes and maintain the natural look and aesthetic appeal of the home.

"In order for homeowners to embrace solar energy, they need to be sure that the system will not detract from their single biggest investment - their home," notes David Field, president of Open Energy. "With the Open Energy SolarSave PV Tiles, we are giving homeowners a functional and aesthetically-pleasing option that is cost-effective and easy to install."

The tiles have a 25-year warranty as a solar product and can withstand a snow load of more than 200 pounds per square foot and a wind load up to 80 mph, Open Energy Corp. adds.
