| | The Quercus Trust and 21Ventures Award $100K Grant to Engineers Without Borders - USA
New York, NY, May 5, 2008 --- The Quercus Trust and 21Ventures announced today that they have awarded a $100,000 grant to the non-profit humanitarian organization Engineers Without Borders – USA (EWB-USA). EWB-USA partners with developing communities around the world to implement environmentally, economically, and culturally sustainable projects while providing training and experience for students and professionals. The Quercus Trust is well known for regularly supporting initiatives dedicated to developing clean technology and fostering a green earth.
“21Ventures joins today with the Quercus Trust to support Engineers Without Borders-USA and the very worthwhile work that they do on a daily basis. Like Quercus Trust, clean energy and improving the condition of the environment has been a focus of 21Ventures from the start. More than 90% of the funds raised by Engineers Without Borders –USA goes directly to support real project work in developing communities. From installing water purification systems to digging wells for a community, from building bridges and schools to creating new stoves that use less fuel, EWB-USA volunteers are making a difference in hundreds of communities across the globe.
